Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards 
This year, a record 946 clubs participated in the Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards and honored 1,120 deserving women in their communities. These awards provided more than $1.3 million to help women reclaim their dreams of a better life for themselves and their families. All participating clubs will receive a certificate and the sincere thanks of the women they helped. Instructions for participating this year are now available.

Soroptimist International of the
Americas Announces New
Corporate Partnership with
Jackson Hewitt Technology
Services LLC


Following placement of our SIAadvertisement in the New York
Times magazine this summer, corporate officers of Jackson-
Hewitt Technology Services LLC have stepped forward to partner
with SIA to provide 27 personal laptop computers as awards to
regional winners of Women's Opportunity Award grant winners.
Computers will be available to award winners receiving regional
grants.

Virginia Wagner Award

This educational Grant was established in 1972.
In 2004 the award was named in honor of Dr. Virginia
M. Wagner (Midwestern Region Governor 1982-1984)
to commemorate her interest in higher education for
women.

It honors and grants a regional monetary award to
a women attending a college or university and who
is working toward a bachelors, masters, or doctoral
degree in her chosen field. Emphasis is put on
scholarship and effort toward education.
