HIGHLIGHTING THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF WOMEN OUR MISSION: TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF WOMEN AND
GIRLS
Soroptimist of Northeast Suburban Franklin County,
a professional women’s volunteer service organization, is affiliated with Soroptimist International
of the Americas, a registered 501(c3) not-for-profit in the United States. Throughout the year, our members strive to improve the lives of women and girls in our local communities of Ohio and throughout the world. Through
annual projects including sale of pointsettias and spring flowers, the club raises funds for grants for women and participate in international projects implemented within the worldwide Soroptimist programming framework.
Our most recent fundraiser Harvest of Hope Benefit
for Hope’s Boutique has focused specifically on outreach to cancer survivors and timely assistance to women
undergoing treatment for this disease. The second annual benefit is scheduled for autumn 2009. We encourage
the members and community individuals and businesses to join in our initiatives throughout the year. Membership in our organization is open to women interested in like values
who wish to “pay forward” in the community through contribution of volunteer hours and support
to our projects and initiatives. Additionally, Soroptimist International of NESFC encourages like efforts of high
school students through its sponsorship of the Gahanna Lincoln High School S Club. We applaud these young women for their service efforts and creativity in choosing and executing their chosen projects.
Goodsearch.org, an internet search engine
which designates money-per-search to Soroptimist International, is but only one way in which
individuals can choose support club initiatives. One simply searches on Goodsearch.org and funds are specified
for Soroptimist. One need not be a member to participate actively. Should you choose to donate funds,
time or retail products for such events as Harvest of Hope or projects such as Operation Christmas Child, the
membership will welcome your interest and participation. Our yearly flower sales are also supported by individuals
and local businesses. With these contributions and project sales, NESFC raises funds to meet the continuing challenges
and opportunities which 2009 represents.
